Relativity Space is a Long Beach, California-based aerospace manufacturer redefining how rockets are built and launched. Founded in 2015 by Tim Ellis and Jordan Noone — engineers formerly of Blue Origin and SpaceX — the company pioneered the world's first 3D-printed rocket and is now developing Terran R, a medium-to-heavy lift, fully reusable launch vehicle targeting its first flight in late 2026.
At the core of Relativity's edge is its vertically integrated, software-driven manufacturing approach: using large-scale additive manufacturing, AI, and autonomous robotics to build rockets with up to 100 times fewer parts than traditional methods — in dramatically shorter production timelines. This radical simplification of the aerospace supply chain enables faster iteration, lower cost, and greater scalability as launch demand grows.
With over $2.9 billion in launch service agreements from customers including SES, Intelsat, OneWeb, NASA, and the U.S. Space Force, Relativity has demonstrated strong commercial traction ahead of its first orbital flight. The company has raised over $2.4 billion in total funding and entered a new chapter in 2025 under CEO Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, who made a significant personal investment to accelerate the Terran R program. Beyond launch services, Relativity is building out innovation platforms in advanced manufacturing and deep-tech R&D — positioning itself as a foundational infrastructure company for the emerging space economy.
